[Project plan] *A cooperative housing with term leasehold interest
The Osaka City government decided to lease a public land with term leasehold interest for 50 years, and tried to collect leaseholders from the public. The community development committee of this area had convened regional workshops for several times and had discussed how to utilize this land and how to create an attractive area where people want to live. Then it decided a corporative housing project to provide flexible housing types and sought members to join in this projects. Then ten families gathered.
[Architectural plan] *Moderate relationships among the neighbors
The land has disadvantage of being narrow (75m*10.5m) and with a neighboring housings faced on the south. The requirements for planning were as follows:
1)terrace house with high independency,
2)common spaces for community activities,
3)moderate linkage with the area.
Each family selected an architect and designed their housing unit freely. Especially, north walls were designed to express own characteristics. A roof garden was designed approachable from each house.
